INgredients is a mobile app proposal designed to fill the need for consumer advocacy at the grocery store. The interface revolves around stylized food illustrations and content set in a sans serif typeface. The kraft paper texture provides a warm background with an obvious nod to grocery shopping. When the user takes pictures of product barcodes, the app generates comparisons between them. Where the products fall in various categories (for example, organic versus genetically modified ingredients) is measured and presented on a sliding scale. In-depth information is easily accessible, while the general comparison is available at a glance.
